If you live in the city and you don't have the time to exercise during the day, running is the right solution to keep fit. Compatibly with the season and the weather, it is possible to run at any time of day in any place, as long as the asphalt is smooth and safe. In spite of what is believed, even for running you need to wear suitable clothing.
In fact, there are technical garments and running shoes for men for all budgets. Analyze your sports needs and your physical characteristics to buy suitable and quality products without spending too much money . Runner clothing is available in many stores: not being equipped correctly is a risk to be avoided at any cost. So here's what to have in your closet if you decide to start running.
Technical
clothing: how to choose the right one?
Running clothes are very particular: one of the common characteristics is the ability to breathe , the limit of many synthetic or cotton t-shirts. Knitwear must also respect a certain compromise between comfort and adherence to the body, so as not to become a hindrance for the runner. Furthermore, these garments are ultra-light and the seams - as far as possible - are hidden.
Running with a suitable shirt and shorts allows you to improve your physical activity , not to feel the sportswear on the skin and not to suffer excessively from heat or cold. In winter it is also important to plan to purchase a jacket and a hat : they will protect the skin from wind, rain and cold, saving annoying consequences such as rheumatism and contractures.
The elements to keep an eye on are, therefore, the quality of the fabric and the functionality of the design : for the rest it is always essential to follow your tastes.
Running
shoes: which model to buy?
It is normal to spends most of the budget dedicated to
clothing on shoes . Footwear is a very important element for the runner: they
must be comfortable, suitable for their running style, the terrain on which
they train and they must improve performance by preventing injuries. Our advice
is also valid for beginners: it is better to buy low-medium range running shoes
than to use unsuitable sneakers.
Before proceeding with the purchase of running shoes, you
need to keep in mind several factors, including: your posture and the favorite
point of support for your feet; body weight; the type of activity carried out.
In fact, running shoes have the task of remedying any wrong postures :
anti-pronation shoes are used to correct an unbalanced support on the inside,
the antisupination models - on the contrary - correct a type of support that is
too unbalanced towards the outside.
The weight of the shoes also has an influence on the running
dynamics. A few tens of grams can make a difference. Shoes weighing more than
300 grams are ideal for amateur runners: they guarantee cushioning and can also
be used during the first races. More experienced runners, who are well
acquainted with running technique, should opt for models weighing between 200
and 290 grams.
The footwear commonly on sale provides maximum grip on slightly inaccessible terrain such as parquet, asphalt, grass or sand . If you plan to train even on harder or more uneven ground, it is a good idea to choose a resistant sole with good grip. Of course, finding the right shoe could take several attempts : don't be discouraged if you don't find the right one right away, the commercial choice is so vast that it guarantees a model for everyone. All that remain is to choose the right path and start training.
